As an essential part of the School of Foreign Languages (SFL), Testing Center (TC), which is set up to uplift quality of both learning and teaching by segregating instructions and examinations, plays an important role in English language teaching. It aims to check English language teaching and learning in the light of the requirements of the National College English Syllabus with beneficial wash back effects on English Instruction. The primary Scope of Work (SoW) of TC is providing valid, reliable and practicable measurement of English teaching & learning effects for all Southeast University (SEU) students, either undergraduates or graduates, including designing, testing, analysis, assessment, and feedback. TC serves all English test needs of SEU with quality and equity, no matter what level, and supports teachers of English in SEU to identify whether the teaching activities commensurate with expectations by each semester final. TC offerings are paper structures, item pools, examination questions, analyses and feedbacks.

TC also conducts researches in testing in an effort to optimize test designs, testing criteria and specifications, examination syllabuses, testing systems, and testing technologies.

TC has built an extensive body of English testing research, operating with multi-level, omni-directional, and peer proofreading features. Each level test has its respective director. In the mean time, each language skill has its own dedicated research team, committed to researching, accumulating and improving the art of modular testing.

The research-based TC organizes routine working conferences and seminars to raise expertise and professionalism in this regard.
