SFL successfully held the Commencement Ceremony for Postgraduates of 2014

On the afternoon of May, 28, 2014, all the 2014 postgraduates had a joyous gathering together to celebrate their graduation. Dean Chen Meihua, Party Secretary Ma Qiang, Executive Deputy Dean Liu Siming, Deputy Dean Zhu Hongqing, and Deputy Party Secretary Tang Dinghua as well as all postgraduates of 2014 with their supervisors whole-heartedly took part in this commencement.

The commencement was hosted by Deputy Party Secretary Tang Dinghua. To begin with, a warm-hearted video about students’ three-year academic life created an atmosphere of excitement and sentiment. Dean Chen then addressed the students with her congratulations to them for their accomplishment of the postgraduate studies and opening up a new chapter for life. At the end of her congratulations, she also advised students of 2015 to be down-to-earth and be proud of our School.

Next, the graduate representative Wu Chan expressed her respect and heartfelt gratitude for the diligent supervisors on behalf of all the postgraduates. Wu Chan recalled her youth age in SFL, and was sentimentally attached to SEU and SFL. At the same time, her great expectations for the future planning reflected those of all postgraduates of 2014. Afterwards, on behalf of students of 2016, Song Yuanyuan conveyed best wishes for all predecessors to hope that they could pursue happiness bravely, remain SFL’s property of endeavor and never give up their dreams.

Then, Dean Chen Meihua and Deputy Dean Zhu Hongqing awarded the degree certificates and set the tassels straight for them. This year, School of Foreign Languages has all together 61 postgraduates of 2014, including 13 students of English Language and Literature, 17 students of Foreign Linguistics and Applied Linguistics, 5 students of Japanese Language and Literature and 26 graduates receiving professional degrees. We sincerely expect them to take their social responsibilities faithfully after graduation, to be creative, selfless and brave and hope them to have an infinitely bright future.
