I．Course Introduction
This course discusses the relationship between tests and teaching, provides a systematic introduction of testing methods of various tests and an all-around analysis of test writing procedures as well as testing methods, and studies how to test candidates’ listening, speaking, reading and writing competence, grammar and vocabulary, and how to organize a test. Through this course, the post-graduate students will gain a better understanding about the basic principles of testing, various testing methods, approaches to assess the quality of a test, and how to organize a test. In addition, the students will be ready for writing a relatively high quality test.
II．Lecturer
Professor Zheng Yuqi, gentleman, born in March, 1955, graduated from La Trobe University with a master’s degree majoring in education. As the Supervisor of master students, his main academic interests are foreign linguistics and applied linguistics. He chief-edited and compiled more than 20 textbooks and published over 20 academic papers in China’s key journals.
