At 3 P.M. of December 25, 2015, led by Vice President Ju Dongying from Saitama Institute of Technology, 48 people of Sino-Japan Friendly Exchange Group paid a visit to SFL (School of Foreign Languages), SEU. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Tang Dinghua, deputy party secretary and deputy dean of SFL, and Dr. Ma Qiang, the party secretary of SFL, delivered a welcome speech. Besides the presence of over 50 students of Japanese majors, Prof. Lu Weiwei, Dean of Japanese Department, and Prof. Wu Weiwei, Doctor Zhao Yang and Doctor Huang Lvping were also there.
In his welcome speech, Dr. Ma Qiang gave a brief introduction to SFL, including the history and the development. In particular, he informed the guests of the international exchange programs in SFL which have extended to different regions and countries like America, Britain, Australia, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and Hongkong. He hoped that the visit can enhance the mutual understandings between Japanese and Chinese youths and more contributions can be made to improve the Sino-Japanese friendship.
Mr. Ju Dongying expressed his thank for the careful organization and considerate arrangement. He said that it was a great pleasure for him to see Chinese and Japanese students sitting side by side and talking with each other hilariously. He hoped that communications between Chinese and Japanese students can be promoted with such exchange meetings and they can learn from each other.
After the speeches, students from SFL invited the Japanese students to take part in their carefully designed games. Both Japanese and Chinese students were active in the games. Cooperating with each other, they were having a lot of fun and really felt happy.
At around 5 P.M., the meeting ended with students’ singing “Friends” together. This exchange event played a significant role in boosting the mutual understandings and strengthening the friendship between students of the two countries.
