Faculty and staff meeting of School of Foreign Languages (SFL), chaired by Dr. Ma Qiang, party secretary of SFL, was held in the lecture hall on the morning of January 21, 2016.
After the short film summaries of “Southeast University in 2015” and “SFL in 2015”, Dr. Ma Qiang, before outlining the work agenda for 2016, gave a detailed review of party work of SFL in 2015 from the aspects of project-based education, service-oriented party construction, party member enrollment, political education, anti-corruption and integrity activities, etc. Prof. Chen Meihua, dean of SFL, summarized the executive work of 2015 from the aspects of discipline construction, teaching and research, faculty development and talents cultivation before laying out the key tasks for 2016 in connection with the 13th plan of five-year national development. Then, Dean Chen illustrated the financial gains and expenditure of SFL in 2015 to guarantee financial transparency.
After the faculty and staff meeting, an executive meeting was held in the conference room that afternoon. Over 40 people attended, including heads of each department, branch party secretaries and institute directors. The meeting was also chaired by Dr. Ma Qiang, party secretary of SFL.
At this meeting, heads from each department, research institute and party branch reviewed their work in 2015 and proposed plans for 2016. Their review covered different topics like party construction, student work, teaching and research, teacher training and international exchange and cooperation. Dean Chen and Secretary Ma affirmed their achievements and urged them to plan their agenda in the light of reform orientation of SEU so that feasible plans can be made and the School can make a greater progress in the coming year.
