A high-level forum on discipline development of the School of Foreign Languages was held at Liuyuan Hotel on April 7th, 2017. Experts present at the forum are as follows: Senior Professor Xu Jun from Zhejiang University, Professor Wang Kefei, Chief Editor of the journal Foreign Language Teaching and Research from Beijing Foreign Studies University, Professor Huang Zhonglian, Center for Translation Studies from Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, Professor Xiang Mingyou, Dean of the School of Foreign Languages from Beihang University, Professor Peng Qinglong, Deputy Dean of the School of Foreign Languages from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Professor Yang Jincai, Dean of the School of Foreign Languages from Nanjing University and Professor Zhang Jie from Nanjing Normal University. Attendees from Southeast University are as follows: Vice President Jin Baosheng, Professor Chen Meihua, Dean of the School of Foreign Languages, Professor Li Xiaoxiang, Party Secretary Ma Qiang, Deputy Dean Ma Dongmei, Deputy Dean Liu Kehua and representatives of professors and teachers from the School of Foreign Languages.
Deputy Dean Ma Dongmei made an introduction to the status quo of the discipline development of the School of Foreign Languages and the preparation for the application of the first-level discipline Ph.D. program. All experts made many constructive suggestions. The forum was a great success.
