The School of Foreign Languages appointed Qin Lushan Guest Professor of Southeast University on May 31, 2017. The appointment ceremony was hosted by Professor Chen Meihua, Dean of the School of Foreign Languages and attended by Professor Zheng Jiamao, Vice President of SEU and faculty and students of the School of Foreign Languages.
Professor Qin Lushan is one of the 71 AIIC (International Association of Conference Interpreters) members and he has been appointed guest professor by universities at home and abroad. He enjoys the reputation of the No.1 Chinese simultaneous translator in Australia. Professor Qin was awarded Medal of the Order of Australia in 2016.
Vice President Zheng Jiamao conferred to Professor Qin the certificate and the badge of SEU and hoped that the cooperation between Professor Qin and SEU faculty and students would yield substantial results in teaching and research. Professor Qin expressed gratitude to SEU and sincere hopes for students in translation.
After the ceremony, Professor Qin went to Southeast University-Monash University Joint Graduate School in Suzhou and delivered a lecture entitled the latest trend of translation in Australia and how to become a qualified simultaneous interpreter. The lecture was a great success.
