On April 2, 2018, faculty from the Department of Public English Teaching for Graduates, the Department of English and the Department of Translation at Xidian University, came for a visit. Zhu Shanhua, Deputy Dean of the School of Foreign Languages at Southeast University, together with Jin Jing, chair of the Department of Public English Teaching for Graduates (DPETG), Ling Jianhui, vice chair of DPETG and Mao Caifeng, vice chair of the Department of English.
First of all, faculty from Xidian University introduced their teaching reform of the courses for English majors and Public English courses for graduates, and enthusiastically shared their experience in various aspects, such as graded teaching, curriculum module setting, credit hours, student management, teacher management, school policies and so on.
After that, the representatives from the School of Foreign Languages at SEU introduced the teaching reform carried out by the Department of Public English Teaching for Graduates (DPETG) and the Department of English, focusing on syllabi, teaching modes, international faculty, teaching assistants, teacher management and school policies.
The exchange helped both sides to achieve a better understanding of the teaching that is taking place at Xidian and SEU and also promoted a friendly relationship between Xidian and SEU.
