At noon on October 30, the 2019 Autumn Semester Teaching Assistant Workshop was successfully held in Room 101, Southeast building, Sipailou campus. The event was organized by the Department of English Teaching for Graduates and was hosted by Professor Xing Guoyuan. More than 40 participants, including some faculty members of the department and teaching assistants working for this semester, attended this workshop. The agenda included the announcement of the list of excellent TAs and excellent TA Salon plan designers of Spring Semester, 2019, excellent TA Salon plan designers of Autumn Semester, 2019 and the selection criteria. Besides, outstanding teaching assistants shared their work experiences and work plans, and all TAs exchanged their ideas on teaching assistants’ work.
Four outstanding teaching assistants shared their work experience and their excellent teaching plans one after another. Then, all participants discussed the current TA activities, including the problems they encountered and the students’ performance. Finally, Professor Xing Guoyuan made splendid comments and an excellent summary of the workshop.
This workshop has provided a platform for teachers and teaching assistants to communicate and learn from each other. It further clarified the requirements and objectives of teaching assistants' activities and enhanced their work competence and communicative ability. All the teaching assistants who participated in the activity said that the workshop provided new ideas to them, broadened their horizon, and laid a solid foundation for a better accomplishment of their tasks.
