Shaofeng Li: Working Memory and Second Language Acquisition: A Focus on Research Methods

At 7 pm on June 30, 2020, Professor Li Shaofeng, a doctoral tutor of Florida State University, was invited by the School of Foreign Languages of Southeast University and the Asia-Pacific Language Policy Research Center to hold an online lecture on the theme of “Working Memory and Second Language Acquisition: A Focus on Research Methods”.

Shaofeng Li is a doctoral tutor of Florida State University, USA. His research interests include second Language acquisition, cognitive abilities in language learning, task-based learning and teaching, and quantitative research methods.

During this lecture, Professor Li first introduced the background knowledge of working memory, then made a comprehensive analysis and summary of the researches on working memory in the field of second language acquisition, and finally put forward his suggestions and prospects for the future research on working memory. The lecture lasted for two hours. Professor Li’s humorous expressions and valuable research experience made the lecture fascinating, and participants actively communicated with Professor Li during the Q&A session. The whole lecture was very informative and everyone benefited a lot.
