On the morning of September 11th, party leaders and professors of School of Foreign Languages gathered together to celebrate Teachers’ Day and the Double Ninth Festival at Jiulong Lake campus. Ma Qiang, General Secretary of the Party Committee, presided over the celebration meeting.
On behalf of the whole School, General Secretary Ma Qiang and Dean Chen Meihua expressed sincere wishes for Professor Liu Xuming upon her retirement and highly evaluated on her contributions to the School’s reform and development. They also expressed heartfelt appreciation for all the professors’ hard work and contributions to the construction and development of the School.
During the celebration, Dean Chen and General Secretary Ma introduced the mid-term implementation of the 12th five-year plan reform and development program. They put forward the aims and goals of the whole School in terms of the reform of courses, teaching and scientific research, the quality of students, and how to accelerate the process of School’s development. All the professors put forward their viewpoints freely concerning the development of the School.
After listening to every professor's viewpoints, Dean Chen and General Secretary Ma expressed their sincere appreciation for their concerns and supports for the School once again. They said, according to everyone’s suggestions and opinions, an in-depth research would be made and feasible solutions and measures would be come up with in order to further promote and deepen the comprehensive reform and development of the School. At the same time they hoped every retired professor would care about and support the development of the School as before, so as to build a beautiful future for the School together.
