讲座摘要:

In this talk, I start with a brief overview of the main concepts and tenets of Vygotsky’s (1978, 1986) sociocultural theory (SCT) as applied to second language acquisition (SLA) and language pedagogy (e.g., Lantolf, 2000; Lantolf & Thorne, 2006; Lantolf & Poehner, 2014; Lantolf, Poehner, & Swain, 2018), including in particular the principles of concept-based instruction (CBI) and dynamic assessment (DA). I then offer a review of a number of recent SCT-informed research projects in second language acquisition, pedagogy and assessment conducted by colleagues and current/former students at Penn State that I have worked or collaborated with in various capacities (e.g., Ai, 2017; Ai & Lu, 2018; Bluemel, 2015; Hartig, 2017; Poehner, Zhang, & Lu, 2015; Tsai, 2018; Zhang & Lantolf, 2015; Zhang & Lu, forthcoming). I conclude with an interactive discussion of and suggestions for directions of future SCT-informed research in second/foreign language pedagogy and assessment in the Chinese context.

陆小飞:教授、博士生导师。美国俄亥俄州立大学语言学博士;现任美国宾夕法尼亚州立大学应用语言学系研究生部主任、教授、博士生导师、广东外语外贸大学云山讲 座教授、中山大学英语水平测试顾问。

主要研究领域:语料库语言学、学术英语、二语写作、二语习得及计算机辅助语言教学。
